Only Problem

Just ordered our first online grocery order yesterday and will be picking it up at noon today, If all goes well may think about doing it all the time so as to avoid all the screaming kids and impolite people

Our WalMart doesn't put all the groceries online. Only two flavors of our Blue Bell ice cream online.

WalMart now has 1 hour before opening on Tuesday for over 60 to shop. We thought about it but heard that other places for over 60 were packed so that defeats the purpose.

So for now we are staying with WalMart Pickup. It is a great option in this day and time.

shopping

special hours for people of 60+ now Costco , Walmart , Safeway , bought TP hand sanitizer Clorox disinfecting wipes just what I needed the stocked the shelfs just before we entered there was a list of stores posted you can google seniors hour's for the stores you want to shop at
Costco was tue and thur 8-9AM , Safeway tue and thur 7-9AM , Walmart tue 6AM they had limits on some stuff, happy hunting

60+ Shopping

I went to the 60+ shopping session at our local supermarket (Hy-Vee) this morning (7 to 8 AM). There were lots of old folks like me there shopping, but the shelves were still pretty empty. Not a roll of TP or bottle of hand sanitizer or hand soap in sight. I was able to buy a 5# bag of potatoes, a few canned items and fresh meat.

I had hoped to do an online grocery order for curbside pickup. Spent quite a bit of time yesterday filling my online cart, then went to check out. The app requires you to select a pick-up time within the next 7 days. When I tried to do that, no time slots were available for the next 7 days! It doesn't allow you to complete the checkout unless a time slot is available. So that ended up being a big waste of time. Oh well, with the shelter in place recommendations, time to waste is one thing I have plenty of. crying

Have a great week.

Have a great week.

Seriously, Please Follow Recommendations

General odds of surviving the outbreak give everyone hope for the best outcome, but for anyone hit hard by the virus, it's horrendous. Under a shelter in place order through mid-April here, but have new concerns about what happens once cabin fever drives people back out into public spaces beyond the exposure risks of venturing about for essential items you can never be certain will be available thanks to the hoarding, or worse, profiteering.

have

a great and safe week. wink

Senior Shopping

Not so sure I want to go shopping the seniors anymore than other people. We did find out that there are a lot of items on hand in the store but show out of stock when you try to order on line. We did find Hand towels in a two roll pack but the would only let us get one pack.

When we ordered on line the other day we could by only one pack of some cookies and two packs of other brands. They would let us buy all the mini bags of candy bars that we wanted.

shopping

got a 72 roll of tp hand sanitizer disinfectant wipes at senior hours they restocked the shelves before opening the doors and had employees in the isles with limited items which stopped the hoarders . when we left there was a line outside and some of them were upset that they let seniors in early. the hoarders caused this shortage not the virus !

Those that were upset about senior shopping are ones that only care about their self's and the hell with anyone else.

Here some groups and neighborhoods that have come together more. A friend of mine lives in a neighborhood where they're paying for a neighbor to deliver food and necessities for people who are elderly or immune compromised. They're both buying the supplies and he drives around gloved up and drops them off no charge.
There are also groups helping young mothers who need baby wipes and such. People are learning to make cloth diapers all sorts of stuff they wouldn't have bothered with previous to this. Seeing the selfishness is difficult. It's nice though when I get a glimpse of people coming together as small communities.

To bad that more neighborhoods don.t do this. Think how good it would be if a lot of these problem gangs would start doing some of this instead of shooting each other and causing other trouble.
