Keeping The Windmill Alive - Your Last Trip? – November 2019

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

Sigh

Dreaming about the next trip.

Last trip

Two days ago I needed to quickly get to a street about ten miles away. I thought I remembered the general vicinity where it was, but I needed to be sure, so I entered the street name into the GPS, and sure enough, the GPS plotted a route in that direction, and off I went. I didn't notice that it was quoting an arrival time three hours later until it tried to turn me away from where I needed to go. Good thing I wasn't following the GPS without my thinking cap on. I got to my destination only wasting a minute or two.

This problem occurred because the last time I entered a destination, I was in a neighboring state, so it was searching for the street name in that area instead of near my current location.

Moral of the story: even when you're in a hurry, check your GPS' planned route and arrival time to make sure you're on the right wavelength.
