Allstays POI

Has anyone developed a conversion for Allstays POI's. Looks like they're not in delimiter format.

I can't get the POI loader to work on a Garmin POI choosing computer destination

Where is this POI file of which you speak?

I joined allstays and they

I joined allstays and they had POI's on the website. I can't get these to work with Garmin. (Campsites gpx file). I have a big problem even entering the POI's from this site into my computer. I don't want to work off the 760. Spent two days laying out markers and couldn't get it to format right. My Delorme street atlas is a snap. 1 hour to finish. Garmin gives you it's route in 30 sec but I want a selected route. Phila to Maine avoiding NYC and using interstate 90. I've used garmin before but not with this much trouble.

Finally got the trip logged correctly using Hubs. I'd like to get the POI's to load next. No good, going through Hartford.

More info needed

Jwcmini, I'm not clear as to what you've tried and how your attempts fail. Part of my confusion comes from your use of terms I don't connect with custom POIs like delimiter, "computer destination," "work off the 760," markers, and Hubs. We have FAQs here on using POILoader for installing custom POIs to your device which may help. If you've never gotten a custom POI loaded to a Garmin device, start with something simple like installing one of POI Factory's files with lots of locations and see if it installs and then use it.

It also seems that you're trying to create a route avoiding a certain city or highway. You can succeed in this without the need for custom POIs or Saved/Favorite places by selecting some "via" points to a route or by changing your device's "avoidances" which according to your 2555's manual, can avoid certain roadways or areas:

it would seem that the OP

it would seem that the OP has a basic problem with getting POILoader to work.

Note that he says even POIs fron here he cannot get to load to computer.

Until that issue is resolved he is stopped.

what is computer and OS?

Not enough real info provided for that problem, let alone other site formatted POI.

I never get lost, but I do explore new territory every now and then.

I looked at the Allstays site

It listed pois in gpi, gpx, magellan, and a couple others. He did mention a "camping.gpx" poi. But, we need to get him to be able to load a poi using poi loader.

I’m back after a few solid

I’m back after a few solid days of working through this. I now have a good trip programmed using the most recent PRO Allstays gpx. Setting up gpx database headers and making sure the 760 was connected (map unlocked) to the computer enabled POI’s to load. My experience is with Street Atlas 2013 and Garmin. Mostly straight line trips using a few waypoints all over the country. This time I deviated and tried to program a zigzag setup in the NE based on POI location and highway. That was a mistake. Adding to my confusion was the Street Atlas POI’s are highlighted and very visible where I forgot they’re invisible with Garmin unless you zoom max to locate one. I also had trouble keeping waypoints aligned if deleted or changed. I found it best to walk away and try again.
Sorry for all the confusion but I was going in circles looking for answers. Allstays Pro is a highly recommended phone app and the campground POI works with Garmin. Thanks for all your input, it always helps.
