You must have missed many, many threads on this. Some examples:
1.) Some jurisdictions have shortened the yellow phase on signals with cameras to prioritize revenue over safety.
2.) Some jurisdictions will fine you for "running a red light" while you move forward into the intersection to allow an ambulance or other emergency vehicle to proceed around you, then deny an appeal.
3.) Many (all?) jurisdictions use a third party for-profit company that takes a hefty slice of every red light "violation" for themselves.

If red light cameras are so precise, I suggest getting rid of the money aspect. Just suspend the license of the driver, or the vehicle plates if the driver isn't identified for a few weeks/months. Then you get the "dangerous drivers" and vehicles driven by "dangerous drivers" off the road. It's not about the revenue, right?
