In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

Driftless Area

Drove the NE Iowa Driftless Byway a few weeks ago. Fantastic scenery. Stopped at a great meat market in New Albin. Ended the journey in LaCrosse, WI.

Left home on 4/19. Presently visiting with our daughter in Mt Dora,FL. Will leave here on the 23rd and head to the Atlanta,GA area to visit with our 2 sons and their families and than on to Virginia to visit with our sisters.

Home again

After a 3,000 mile drive from Mexico and a 3 hour time crossing the border at Laredo and a 5 minute crossing the border at Detroit I'm back home again.

Lazy

My GPS has made me so lazy. Easter trip to Ohio was good but I discovered that even though I have been to my SILs new place a couple of times I could never find my way to it or back to my route without my GPS. I just follow it blindly.

Both directions we were within minutes of the starting estimate even though we made many pit stops along the way.

Visiting my daughter

Western PA to Eden Prairie, MN. The updated route worked flawlessly on my nuvi 1450. Unfortunately the traffic was also accurate around Minneapolis.

Note, for long routes like this I have started a practice of shutting off the nuvi before exiting for rest stops and not turning it back on until I'm back on the highway. This eliminates all the recalculating which sometimes locks up the nuvi 1450 on long routes.

Around town

When you are in an area with constriction you can use the gps to follow other routes, see where the street takes you. Gps gives you warning sign if you have points of interest on the way you go.

Thank you to all members that help collect points of interest for people like a dummy with tech.

Still on our trip. We are in the Atlanta,GA area and plan on leaving for Virginia on Monday, May 6. Hopefully the next update will be on next months "Keeping the windmill alive-your last trip".
