GPS to fail April 6 ??

In the March 2019 edition of PC Magazine there is an article about the possibility of some GPS systems failing come April 6. Evidently something to do with resetting the timing stamp every 20 years. Anyone heard of this? According to the article any GPS systems built after 2010 should be fine or those that conform to the ICD-200 or GPS-200 specifications.

Does anyone know how to check what firmware version our device is currently using?
I can't speak for other units but the software version can be found on the Nuvi 3597 and RV760 by touching SETTINGS > DEVICE > ABOUT.
On the Nuvi 1490, it can be found by touching TOOLS > SETTINGS > SYSTEM > ABOUT > SOFTWARE VERSION
On the Nuvi 265, it can be found by touching TOOLS > SETTINGS > SYSTEM > ABOUT

Garmin Nuvi is ok, but my Mayan calendar gave out.

Select "System".

About - display your nuvi's software version number, unit ID number, and audio version number.
No wonder I couldn't find it... I searched for "firmware" in the PDF.

My Nuvi 760 is still running version 4.80. According to the following link there are 2 more versions released after 4.80:

The latest version (5.40) contains a lot of fixes and corrections. I don't recall experiencing any problem with 4.80.
