Garmin maps available for Streetpilot 7200

What is the latest Garmin map that will work without any problems on my Streetpilot 7200?
My 7200 says it has the CN North America NT 2014.20 US & Canada installed but if I try to route a 1400 mile trip it says not enough memory. I think I used to have a 2013 version but now I cannot find it. Any help is appreciated. Also, how do I find out how to eliminate the Canada part to maybe free up some memory?

Use MapInstall

You can use MapInstall to partially install an old map or part of the latest map.

You only need to use the first part of my instructions at:

memory limits

Memory limit during route calculation doesn't depend on map version, but on device limitations. Routing algorithm has usually limit on numbers of steps it can do, when calculating. When number is exceeded it shows "not enough memory" or just crashes. I can see this on my Nuvi 770.

How far it can calculate will depend on how many turns it will have when calculating route, as this is main limitation for route length.

Solution is to split route in smaller parts, that can be calculated by device. Just make few destination points and when you are close to it switch routing to next point. Or simply buy new device that will be able to calculate longer routes.

deleting part of maps?

How would I delete anything that is part of the disc image file??

thank you for your help!

I understand the concept but don't know how to apply it.

Try

Try using Metricman's link above. His instructions are in the 8th post in the thread.

If you haven't already done so, add an SD card. Garmin claims the 7200 will accept up to a 2GB card.
