Help with new DriveLuxe 51 & Apple PC please..

I went into a small local computer store after ordering the GPS above. While I was in the store, I discovered they had a DriveLuxe 51 LMT-S on a shelf. It didn't have a price so I asked. The guy said 143.99 and I bought it. I've canceled the other order.

Now, the questions (Yes I've looked around and didn't find anything)

Computer system will be an Apple MacBook, OS level is 10.4+

What I need to know is:

Can I migrate my saved places from my 3597 to the DriveLuxe 51LMT-S? My 3597 connects to a windows system. This new Driveluxe is going to a friend and they use Apple and I'm not proficient with apple. We have some common locations we travel, Dr's, Hospitals, Med-Centers and the like and a few other places. My friend is most certainly challenged with spacial orientation about names of streets and the like. I think they know about 5 street names within about 15 mile radius...

Is there an equivalent SOX file for the sound files when POI files are loaded using the POI-LOADER program (presuming it's available to for APPLE)

Is there a discussion here somewhere that talks about how to do things in APPLE?

Any and all help would be appreciated.

TIA

no problem

Whether the GPS is connected to a Mac (Apple) or a PC, it makes no difference. The GPS has its own operating system independent of the computer. Only data like Saved Places goes through the USB interface cable.

Garmin Express is available for download for a MAC or a PC. Saved Places transferred from a PC to the GPS can also be transferred from the GPS to a Mac. The GPS doesn't care whether it is connected to a Mac or a PC.

Using your PC, transfer the Saved Places from the 3597 to the PC. Either Garmin Express or BaseCamp can be used. Connect the DriveLuxe 51 to the PC and transfer the Saved Places to the GPS the same way.

No sox.exe is needed for Apple. It is a Windows thing.

Transferring favorites

Newer versions of Garmin Express handle the transfer of favorites easily so install Garmin Express (if you already haven't) and make sure both devices are registered. Then do the following:

Open up Garmin Express.

Click on the "?" in the upper right corner.

Scroll down to the topic "Transferring and Backing Up Your Favorites" and follow the steps outlined.

Hmmm...one minute too slow

Yes, there is. Just go to the Garmin software page with your Mac and you will be offered the correct program.

Again, thank you all...

Seems like the POI-LOADER was last updated in like Nov of 2013??

No changes since then?? I'll presume it works on the DriveLuxe 51 just like it did on the 3597?

Again TIA!!!
