Easy update...

Thanks!

Not Seeing Anything New

Looks like Garmin stripped out the Adventure, Cloud, Connect and online features. Instead of a forward feature update, it looks like they retreated by taking features, unused/unpopular, out.

This was available on the Apple store, which is good news because it was then Apple vetted.

yep ...

It was a strip out of features that weren't very popular. Why they bothered I don't know.

Still not 64 bit

Will not run with next OS update (OS 11.4). Coming veery soon.

Garmin say a 64 bit version is on the way

Yep

There's an Apple WWDC first week of June, and the new MacOS will probably be released shortly thereafter.

Updated.

Got to look for it

Oddly, it doesn't show up among the updates when you go to the app store on the Mac. But if you search for BaseCamp you'll see that version 4.70 is there. And yes, 4.70 is still not optimized for the current MacOS

I had to go to Garmin and download it. It's in the App Store now, issue date was 5/19.

Still 32 bit

No good until they release a 64 bit version. Anyone using High Sierra will get a warning. They've had plenty of time to update. I don't use any Garmin software except Express which is 64 bit. I need a new GPS but will not get one until they start updating software which may be never!

Not going to hold my breath

They've had a year or more to fix this.

Use the Version From the App Store

A while ago, there were competing versions, directly from Garmin and from the Apple App store. The version from the Apple App Store was the wise choice, for it was vetted and problem-free. Get the version from the App Store.

Good to know Garmin is still updating BaseCamp

Well ...

... I wouldn't go that far. It's withdrawn various functions and is promising a 64 bit version this year. I wouldn't call that 'updating BaseCamp' smile

Awesome Site to use with Basecamp

I realize Basecamp is old hat for most people here, but for those on the east coast, the newnenglandriders.org website has incredible GPX files and even a great tutorial for basecamp. I attended a class today, learned a ton, and now have popular roads and files in Basecamp from Alabama to Newfoundland. It's all free and it is very robust. Just thought I'd share the wealth.
