It would help JM, if you posted the version of Firefox and the version of the Operating System (Windows X, ect.).

Firefox on all machines

Firefox 58.0.2 64 bit on all machines here... No problems... W7-64 and W10Pro

A 2689LMT in both our cars that we love... and a Nuvi 660 with Lifetime Maps that we have had literally forever.... And a 2011 Ford Escape with Nav System that is totally ignored!

works fine

even with running uBlock, ghostery and skip redirect.
Which means these programs don't see Poi Factory as being a threat.

Have you tried starting Firefox in the safe mode with no addons?

Troubleshooting...

This is a good troubleshooting step.

I also found this troubleshooting guide from Mozilla/Firefox:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-load-websi...

Geo sent me a screenshot last night, and he's getting a message that says "We can't connect to the server at www.poi-factory.net."

This points to a problem somewhere between Geo's Firefox browser at one end and the login server at the other end. Messages aren't able to pass between the two endpoints.

No issues FF 57.0.2 (64 Bit)

That sounds like a DNS issue. Try finding another primary DNS server as a test.

4.2.2.1-Level3
4.2.2.2-Level3
4.2.2.3-Level3
4.2.2.4-Level3
4.2.2.5-Level3
4.2.2.6-Level3
8.8.8.8-Google
8.8.4.4-Google

These are all open servers that anyone can use. The easiest way to verify DNS is the root cause would be to open up a command prompt and at the prompt type "nslookup www.poi-factory.net". If it replies with an IP address then DNS is good:

C:\Users\rpatters>nslookup www.poi-factory.net
Server: a.resolvers.level3.net
Address: 4.2.2.1

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: www.poi-factory.net
Addresses: 2607:f1c0:100f:f000::219
74.208.236.160

If the result is along the lines of 'x.x.x.x can't find www.poi-factory.net", then your issue is the DNS setting (simulated response):

C:\Users\rpatters>nslookup www.poi-factory.net
Server: f.resolvers.level3.net
Address: 4.2.2.6

*** f.resolvers.level3.net can't find www.poi-factory.net: Non-existent domain

Hope that helps

DNS is system wide. If DNS

DNS is system wide. If DNS is the problem (unable to resolve this website), Edge wouldn't work either. OP can log in just fine with Edge. The problem is Firefox browser on OP's computer. I would clear FF cookies and cache as my first troubleshooting step.

Firefox Login

I had a similar issue with another site. After I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it, everything worked. You might try that.

That was good news. I happen to use Opera, but any time I see a post anywhere that using a Microsoft product is required I start to worry.

I am old enough to remember when Microsoft embedded some code in the OS to trigger a failure message if you were not using their product.
