This “Bike Trail Parking Areas” file contains just the parking area waypoint information for all my bike trail files. It is meant for automotive GPS units and does not contain the numerous POI’s meant for handheld trail use.

I keep the file loaded on the GPS in my truck for easy navigation to any trail parking lot. I thought it might be useful to other trail enthusiasts.

The first 2 letters of each waypoint indicate the state. The second 2 letters refer to the individual trail.

“PA LG Whitehaven Pkg”, for example would indicate the Whitehaven parking area on the Lehigh Gorge Trail in the state of Pennsylvania.

The trail abbreviations are as follows:

MA CC – Cape Cod Trails in Massachusetts
MD CO – C&O Canal Towpath Trail in Maryland
MO KT – The Katy Trail in Missouri
NH NN – New Hampshire Northern Rail Trail in New Hampshire
NJ CT – Columbia Trail in New Jersey
NJ DR – D&R Canal Trail in New Jersey
NJ SH – Sandy Hook Trail in New Jersey
NY EC – Erie Canalway Trail in New York
PA AP – Great Allegheny Passage in Pennsylvania
PA DL – D&L Canal Trail in Pennsylvania
PA GT - Ghost Town Trail in Pennsylvania
PA HT – Heritage Trail & Torrey C Brown Trail in Pennsylvania & Maryland
PA LG – Lehigh Gorge Trail in Pennsylvania
PA PB – Pike 2 Bike Trail in Pennsylvania
PA PC – Pine Creek Rail Trail in Pennsylvania
VA NR – New River Trail in Virginia
VA VC – Virginia Creeper Trail in Virginia
VA WO – Washington & Old Dominion Rail Trail in Virginia
VT IL – Island Line Trail in Vermont
VT LV – Lamoille Valley Rail Trail in Vermont
WV GR – Greenbrier River Trail in West Virginia
WV NB – North Bend Trail in West Virginia
