.
I don't understand what you are asking.
Are you asking WHERE people get the information for the POI locations like the phone number, etc?
Most times people get that from the website of the restaurant, store, etc. and then input it into the POI file.

I think,
I believe "realtriplev" wants instruction on how to take a list of many locations (all Quiznos locations for example, with all the info) and geocode and create a poi file all in one swoop.
Some "stores" only have limited "store location" functions on their web sites. Such as "search by zip code" and not a list of entire US locations. Finding these locations will take more time.
Instead of "doing one by one."
edit: on the quiznos web site, find a location, select "United States", and "state/province" and "city" to All it will return the following:
4630 Stores Found Page 1 of 926
so now, I'm sure he's asking, how to get these 4630 locations geocoded and placed into a proper poi file with the address/phone numbers etc.

Me too! I'm a new user and would like to contribute, but so far I haven't seen any instructions on "how to"
I think that we have that
I think that we have that info in the faq area. Let me know if you still need help.
Miss Poi
you're welcome

There are more ways to create poi files than there is to skin a cat.
Everyone seems to have their own prefered method to do this. You will have to try the different methods and then you will resort to the most efficient way that suits your needs.
I prefer the more slow and accurate method and basically do one at a time. If you wish to code a "batch" of addresses, hang in there a minute and I'm sure there will be plenty of help on the way.
