Deleting POIs from GPS Unit

You can use POI Loader to delete all the Custom POIs that you have loaded to your unit.

Also, you could navigate to the GARMIN folder on your unit and delete the POI.GPI file. This is the file that contains your Custom POIs.

Be sure not to delete anything else unless you know exactly what it is.

MM explains how to delete any custom POIs you may have loaded. You cannot delete the built in POIs.

POI Loader only clears out the poi.gpi file. It does not delete it or any other gpi files in the Garmin directory. You can delete all the gpi files manually.

how do you delete them manualy. the pios loader won't delete them.I have tryed about 4 times and they are still there.They just stay there. thanks MtheMann p.s I have a 660

Try loading a single POI, i.e. in the folder on your PC, store only a single POI and then use POI loader to load that to your GPSr. It should load that one and delete all of the others. If that doesn't work, let me know.

I did what you said and it did not work. I even deleted all my favorites and no good. then I reset it and that did not work.I pay a lot of money for this thing, i am unhappy with it. Thanks MtheMann

Are you using a PC or a MAC? Several postings have been made regarding deleting from a Mac.

When I connect my Nuvi 350 to my PC, it allows me to delete POI

I am using a pc (dell)

Connect your GPSr to your PC. Look for the POI.GPI file. Delete that file.
