IOS 11 Is Coming

An iMac Pro... and the new iPad Pro...

Hoping that some of my older apps get updated to 64 bit so I can keep using them.

NOPE. Once you reach a certain point nothing updates anymore.
I have an older iPhone 4 which I use only for when I'm in Mexico for the winter. I's stuck with IOS v.7.1.2 and any apps I had at that point work fine but no more updates for anything, which is fine by me.

iPad Pro looks pretty nice

I believe he is saying that he wants the apps themselves to update, not an older device.

This, of course, is up to the app developers themselves and not Apple.

new 27" 5k iMac. iMac Pro is more than I need. Too bad the space gray color (Pro) is not on iMac.

Yes, referring to specific apps I rely on daily to be updated to run on iOS 11. One of them is an Apple app that hasn't been available from the App Store for a few years. As such, I doubt it will be updated for iOS 11.

I can still use an old iPhone 4S to for those apps I suppose.

I'm actually beta testing it but so far iOS 11 has been amazing on battery life and few customization to control center

I've been an iOS 11 user since the beta came out in June. Wifi works great until I try to connect to an Enterprise Wifi network. So far that has not been possible. I am hoping that when it leaves beta that the issue will be corrected. I've reported the issue but continue to wait for a solution.

I thought rumor suggest Sept 12.

Loaded up without incident.

Works fine, seems to be better than 10.3.3.

On my iPhone 7 and no issues so far that I can detect

My wife updated her i6 last night too.

No problems, works fine.

So far, I like iOS 11. It seems to be an iOS update that did not overwhelm the older hardware and slow things down. The i6 feels like a new phone.

Updated over lunch (20 min. d/l, 25 min. install)

So far, iOS 11 seems faster on the iPhone 6, and the update reclaimed 2.5GB of storage. On a 16GB device, that's greatly appreciated...

I've seen some reports of increased battery usage. I use my phone very little during the day, it stays connected to wifi whenever it's here at home. So far, just idling it's gone from 100% to 87% in 8 hours of non usage.

If you're still seeing battery issues next week, worry... Otherwise, it's just due to spotlight search indexing that takes a bit of time over the first few days of installing a new iOS.

Employees should not upgrade their iPhones and iPads to iOS 11, which was released to the public yesterday.

Apple says it is working closely with Microsoft to fix an issue that can prevent individuals from sending or replying to emails using Apple's native Mail.app in iOS 11. If you are affected by this you will see an error message that says "Cannot Send Mail. The message was rejected by the server." Apple will release a fix soon in an upcoming software update.

Sounds to me like a problem with sending through MS Exchange, or whatever the mail service is in MS Office.

Android isn't affected, nor are previous versions of the IOS. That's the only thing that has changed, the version of code...

I'm seeing faster battery consumption, and have to recharge more often.

Did the update on my Iphone 7 and all went well. Does not seem to have had any bad effects on the Garmin Smart Link APP.

Everything seems to be working fine so far Will do my iPad later.

Updated my iPad Pro, 7+ and 6 (company phone).

All are working fine.

Personally, I wasn't experiencing any problems, but I updated anyway.

The update was for users of an Exchange Mail server. Most other folks won't see any difference. But there are so many corporate uses that were effective, it called for a point update.

Correct. Battery life is back to normal.

Updated all my devices to 11.0.2. They all work fine.
