Problem with Traffic Icon

A few days ago I check my 1450 Gps for any update and it show me 3 updates.1 was for time change, one an XML update and the other one was for Traffic update. I have a lifetime Traffic on my Gps

Before I did the update as soon I would plug in my Garmin the traffic Icon would show up all the time ,very seldom would not Received traffic riception. But after few minutes it will show up the Traffic icon since the Traffic update now is the other way around,I click On setting traffic Icon is actived and has a check mark

Lifetime traffic for USA and CANADA.

When I click on traffic in setting the following message is Diplay.

(*) THE traffic Subscription has not be activeted, Activation accours automatically when your Unit acquaries satellites and receives traffic signal data.

and while I reading this message and click ok after finish reading The Traffic Icon show up.

early I went to the store and The traffic Icon was showing after I got out of the store and turn the car on and the gps,the Traffic icon was gone again.

How do I know that the traffic update went wrong,or coincidence that while I playing with the traffic icon ,the icon suddenly show up again.

While the traffic icon show up again I went back to read the messages about the activation (*) and the messages is still there I guess this messages if for people that do not have Traffic and would like to renew..

Like I said all this after I did the update 3 days ago.

I have not try to do the Hard Reset,I also have a back up of my GPS what file is the one regarding the traffic. I would like to know if i can delete the new one and replace with the old one but I do not know what file is the one concerning the Traffic, I connect my GPS on my PC, I enable show all files and icon but still does not see what file is the traffic

I have not try to do a hard reset, when you do a hard reset what data do you lose?

Does anyone have been having the same problem with Icon traffic not showing quickly since the last traffic update.

Could also very well be satellites not sending traffic data,Keep in mind all the bars next to the car icon they are all green and in full display.

Does anyone have Garmin Tecnical support phone number?

Thanks in advance..

Information from Garmin Support below. Be sure to check the map to make sure you are in a coverage area.My old 265 showed the icon but the 2597 doesn't. Maybe the update change that.

Troubleshooting an automotive traffic issue
If you have a Garmin device with a traffic receiver but you are not receiving any traffic information, there are a number of troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve the issue.

Confirm you are using the appropriate GTM traffic receiver/vehicle power cable
The sticker affixed to the vehicle power cable's cord or plug should indicate whether it is a GTM 25, 26, 35, or 36
Review the manual for your device to ensure the cable is connected to the correct port
Verify the cable's placementfor optimal traffic reception
Confirm external power is being supplied by the cable. A red or green LED light on the cable should be lit. If it is not, check the fuse
Update the device and traffic receiver software using Garmin Express
Confirm you're using the device in a traffic coverage area
For information on interpreting the traffic coverage maps, go to Interpreting the Garmin Traffic map
It is also possible that the traffic service has been disabled on your device. To confirm whether the service is enabled:

Connect the device to power using the compatible GTM cable
Touch Tools
Touch Settings
Touch Traffic
If traffic is disabled, you may enable it here.

If your traffic subscription has never been activated, you will need to acquire GPS satellite signal for it to activate. After checking your coverage area using the link listed above, plug the GTM cable into the vehicle and then into the GPS device or cradle. Allow the device to receive GPS signal along with the FM signal. This process may take up to 20 minutes.

If you have previously received traffic signal with your receiver, you may still receive traffic signal even without a satellite signal. In this case, the device will use your last known position to determine coverage.
