Verizon acquisitions Yahoo and AOL will be renamed "Oath" once Verizon's acquisition of Yahoo is completed. AOL CEO Tim Armstrong took to Twitter to announce the company's new name, which he said should be formalized this summer. Oath will be the cornerstone of Verizon's attempt to revolutionize itself from stodgy old telco to millennial-focused advertising company, a metamorphosis that has had a mixed track record thus far.

They are forcing legacy Verizon account holders (like me) to either dump their Verizon.net accounts, or keep them under AOL.
