I am just learning how to use my new Garmin NuviCam and, on looking over the tutorials on how to load POI files into the Garmin, find that it opens with describing the use of a Windows platform. Does this mean that it will not work with the Google Chrome browser? I've been trying to figure out if the POI Loader works with Chrome as that is the browser I usually use. Can I download the POI files using Chrome or will that somehow not work? Any opinions out there? I did download the POI Loader with Chrome, but now am not sure if that will work properly.
Thanks for any input!
Chrome on a PC works fine
The Chrome browser works just fine on a PC to download the POI Loader program as well as to download individual POI files for your Garmin device (csv and gpx files). It's also the browser I use with Windows 10 and works fine with downloads. Once you're on board with downloading and installing custom POIs to your computer and loading them to your nuvicam with POI Loader, you can then look to also download custom wav audio files for your custom POIs and also download custom icons for your POIs.
Read through the various POI Loader FAQs and shout back if you need specific help. I do recommend understanding and using custom POIs with your device before you try to add custom audio alerts, custom icons, or special types of custom POIs like TourGuides.

no problem
I have only used Chrome for many years for downloads from Garmin and from POI Factory. It worked fine!

Garmin And Chrome
I have used Chrome for years and it works fine with POI loader. I can't speak to the NUVI cam but I recently purchased a Samsung Smartcam and it only works with MS Internet Explorer. There is a special piece of software I had to load that only works with Internet Explorer.
ChromeBook?
Are you referencing a ChromeBook rather than a Windows or Mac running the Chrome browser? The ChromeBook is a relatively new player on the block. It looks like a laptop running the Chrome browser, but there is no way presently to run apps such as POI Loader since Chrome OS is the operating system. The ChromeBook is like a tablet it some ways. If it can be done in a browser, it can be done on the ChromeBook. Recent models support the Google Play Store so apps can be installed from that source much like on an Android device. I don't foresee Garmin writing a version of POI Loader for this platform as it does not have a traditional file system.

Good catch
Are you referencing a ChromeBook rather than a Windows or Mac running the Chrome browser?...
Yes, indeed, POI Loader won't work currently on a Chromebook. Mac or PC only for now.

Thanks very much for the input. The tutorial is what confused me as it is a bit out of date. I do see that I can use the Chrome browser, but not Chromebook. So I shall proceed from here!
