New (old) Member Introduction

Hi All - I registered with this site nearly 8 years ago but haven't been active. I apparently didn't bookmark the site and I simply forgot it existed....getting old I guess. sad
Browsing through the site I see lots of useful information. As I learn the site better I am looking forward to contributing whenever I can.
I have been a Garmin owner since the days of the Emap and Mapsource. I currently own a Garmin 590LM unit. I am fairly proficient with BaseCamp and the 660 and 590 Garmin units.
My wife and I travel by motorcycle and use Sena Bluetooth communications which I link through my 590.
I preplan all of our trips on BaseCamp and carry a small laptop to make any modifications while we are on the road. However, I always carry the old fashion paper highway maps just in case!
Here is my photo link of many of our road trips:

Thank you to the folks that developed this site and it's contributors. Hope to donate my 2-cents whenever possible. -JEP-

Check-in --- Now that you are back

I try to check in once a week just to see what might pop up that's interesting. I learn about GPS unit updates when they occur and notice interesting discussions on other topics as well. Sometimes, I check in, just to the Chit Chat thread, so I get credit for the visit.

It is worthwhile to visit on a regular basis, so put a recurring reminder in your computer or smart phone calendar.

Easy and quick just to check in when time is short and keeps you in touch.

New to site

Hi, We are new RV and Garmin owners, so this site is going to be very helpful! Looks like a lot of good folks on here, as well as great information. I hope we can add to this. Have traveled a LOT, but by car or motorcycle, so this will be a new experience.

We look forward to sharing information with you all!
