Can we set a standard or template for POI files? I download poi's and most are great, there are some with different formatting. I'm no expert but some files contain either too much or unnecessary information which clutters the display, while some display info which appears out of order...( ie. address before name)
Are zip codes necessary?
Eventually everything will
Eventually everything will be put into the database and all the files will be standardized. The piece that JM needs to program is a huge undertaking and will take him weeks to months to build. He has been working on all the little things that need improving first.
Miss Poi
miss poi, maybe you can post
miss poi, maybe you can post a jpeg of what a proper csv document should look like.
When I created my 1st and 2nd poi's, I just opened another file and followed their format. Now I have a better idea of how I want things to appear on the display screen.
Perhaps you could explain about what columns to use and how using different columns makes the text appear.
column A = longitude
column B = latitude
column C = title, description, location... (one or two of these)
column D = phone number
column C uses bold text

Point of info...
ov2 files when converted to .csv format display 3 rows of data in the following order: (A) longitude, (B) latitude, and (C) any information the author has included about that specific location i.e., name, address, tel #, zip code, and the like.
