There is plenty of room on the c530. I have some POIs on my c530 and others on an SD card and always have the SD card in my GPSr. I could place them all in my GPSr, but haven't. When you use POI loader, it finds both the Garmin C530 and the SD card, and you select where to load the POIs. I keep my traffic ones on the c530, and others on the SD card.

High Capacity cards:

Can the NUVIs utilize the new high capacity cards that SD has now? I have the 680 and I know I can get as large as a 4GB card which would be plenty of music etc…and circuit city has the High Capacity card and a USB 2.0 reader for $50?

Thank you

I use a 4GB connect 3D SD card in my Nuvi 670 and it works fine. The only draw back is that when I turn my Nuvi on it takes about 3 or 4 minutes to load all my Mp3's in and the maps don't come up until the SD has completely loaded. I never turn my Nuvi off so for me it's no problem.

4 GB SDHC Card

I went ahead and bought the SD - High Capcity card today with the reader...I loaded around 3.5 GB of pics and Music..and the unit seems to find everything and perform well..So I am good to go with 4GB of data...The Pics come up slow but that is b/c they are 3MB photos from my Cannon 30D and they are pretty high resolution jpgs..

For $50 this is well worth it...considering this is more memory than my first PC...LOL

Thank you...I have been using Cannon products for over 20 years (NFL Photographer and Ski Photog) now and the digital age is best thing since the zoom lens...I have recently purchased a 100mm Macro and what a different world of photography!

Never turn your Nuvi off?

Just wondering why you never turn it off.......I was always thinking it was good to turn them off so as to not wear them out prematurely...........Dave

large photo files

As the resolution of my nuvi 350 screen is only 320x240 you can reduce the size of the photo files and conserve space.

It is probably better to turn it off. The reason I leave it on is just for convenience and I figure that by the time my 670 burns out there will be something new that I want.

8gb sdhc cards

work in my nuvi 650

love having that much storage available. can always use the space to store vacation pics if you have a small CF card, or you have a lot of music.
