Great customer service by Garmin

 

One of my GTM60 receiver stopped receiving traffic siganl. I contacted Garmin support. They suggested software updates etc. and finally suggested me to get the replacement and they suggested me to pay $85.55 CAD for the repair cost or suggested me to buy new one. At that point I declined their offer and told them that worst case I will buy Smartlink app traffic subscription which is less than half the price.

Then next day I sent them another email explaining that I was a loyal customer for the past 9 years and bought 6 device over this period and they should send me this accessory free of cost.

Guess what? next day they replied back and asked for my mailing address to ship it to me free. Today, I received it.

I really appreciate Garmin's great customer service.

Even on Marine products

I had an old Garmin black and white Marine GPS that quit after almost 15 years. When I called Garmin about service they said the unit was out of production and they no longer offered a repair service. I expressed my disappointment and the hassle of installing a unit with a different form factor, and the customer service person promptly offered to ship me one of their 'left-over spares' as a goodwill gesture.

Nowadays I'm a Garmin shareholder as well as a Garmin product owner!

I have always had good luck

Every time I have contacted Garmin, I have always had good luck with their customer service people. I had to contact them one time about a map issue and they took care of it over the phone. Can't say enough good things about the folks at Garmin.

There are some cos. who will do it the first time around--Kohler, Moen, Lutron. No need to explain, it's the way old school American cos. operate.

I tried to file a warranty claim with Kidde, and oh shucks, I don't have a receipt from 8 years ago. POOR SERVICE! The device has the date of mfg. on it, so imho that should suffice. Stand behind your products, will ya?

Never Had a Problem With Garmin Customer Service

My first experience was back in the mid 1990's when I bought a GPS III handheld receiver. Two weeks after I received it, Garmin released the GPS III+ which had more on board memory. When I called, they offered to replace my GPS III with the III+ at no cost to me. They even covered the shipping.

I've made many calls to them since, all with positive results. My only complaint, albeit a minor one, is the sometimes lengthy wait times when calling to talk to a rep.
