POI update notification

Is there an option to get notifications when d/l POI's are updated?

Nobut

No, but if you're signed in, you can go to:

http://www.poi-factory.com/poifile/myfavorites

and this will alert you to most new files. The only exceptions I know of are the redlight and speed camera files and the all USA school file.

Check list periodically

Often, I download a file in order to try to help out some member who is having a problem with that particular POI file. Most of the time it is not a file that I want to have in my own Custom POIs.

So, I periodically need to look at "myfavorites" and delete those I do not need.

Zip File

I think its this one you are talking about>>>>http://www.poi-factory.com/poifiles/us/schools. It's a 10 year old file but it would alert you if they were not all zip files. The individual files are not very big but the combined school file is quite large.

That's the one. Of my POI files, it's the only one not listed in "My Favorite Files" and therefore, if an update were made, I'd not know it. I hadn't thought of it being because it's a zip. Could be. The file states it may be updated once or twice a year but I don't think that's currently correct. Now that I have a nuvi 3597 with great built in school zone coverage, I don't monitor the Schools file very often.
