Are Audio Speed Warnings Possible on nuvi 2789?

When I am traveling with my nuvi 2789, I will get an audio warning (a beep) when I near a school zone. And when I accidently exceed the speed limit, the actual speed box adjacent to the posted speed box will take on a reddish-orange border to alert me that I have exceeded the posted speed limit.

What I would like is an audio warning (a beep) when I have exceeded the speed limit so I don't have to keep glancing at the screen. Is that possible to implement?

Thanks in advance.......

An interesting FAQ I came across on Garmins website:

2797

Just checked the list you provided from Garmin, it lists a 2709.
The zero being substituted for 2797 I believe. The 2797 does not have this setting "Scroll down to Audible Speed Alerts"
Unless I am wrong, then Garmin is not putting the correct info out!

Did you see and read Footnote 1 and the hoops we in North America will have to jump through to potentially have the alert option?

1 devices' If the locale on these devices is set to a country outside of Europe (including the United States), the device will not provide audible speed alerts. A non-European device when set to Europe locale may emit audible speed alerts, but it is not guaranteed.

OOOPS

I'm surprised Garmin published this as a FAQ. This "trick" has been known by Garmin enthusiasts for many years. I tried it with my 2699, which basically has the same software as the 2789, and changed the locale to UK. Indeed, this added an option to enable audio speed alerts under the map settings screen. This alert is a "boing-boing-boing" sound. It comes on the instant you exceed the speed limit. There is no option to add a buffer zone like don't come on until X mph over the speed limit. It only comes on one time and stops, even if you keep exceeding the speed limit.

Note: by changing the locale to UK, a few other things will change: the status bar at the top is blue instead of green, the speed limit is a red circle instead of a white rectangle, and "ramps" are referred to as "slip roads."

Thanks for UK setting. I

Thanks for UK setting.

I switched to UK. Fortunately I did not lose my saved places (now called favorites under UK).

Using a female UK-english voice.

I turned on speed alerts and will try it for a while.

Thanks for the tip. I also

Thanks for the tip. I also switched my Nuvicam to United Kingdom and changed setting to suite for Canada e.g Miles to Kilometers, Language US English etc.

I went back to USA

I went back to USA setting.

I didn't like the weather being displayed in Centigrade with no apparent way to change to Fahrenheit.

The final straw was when voice command refused to search for local places (not saved places) displaying that the option was not available when using UK settings.

Thanks for your update.

I was wondering how that "trick" would work in the real world.

Actually, I got everything

Actually, I got everything working by using GARMIN theme, and American keyboard, language, etc..

Only problem that seems to be left is Weather is is Centigrade, and I can't find any place to change it to Fahrenheit.
