POI files

It's been years since I loaded POI files onto a NUVI that I am lost in how to do it. I get as far in the POI Loader where it asks where to put the new data. Everything I enter gives the error that 'there are no data files in that folder. Please specify a folder that contains at least one file with a .csv or .gpx extension.' (Using windows 10).' I have a refurbed 3597. I inserted a 32 GB micro card in the NUVI. It is the only card available now. Should I format the card? It has never been used before.

Found an old POI folder

I found an old POI folder and it loaded 77 custom POIs on my device. Does not seem like many POIs. It that Garmin's file or how do I load a more complete RLC and School Zone file?

POI

You'll have to make a folder somewhere on your computer and give it a name. Then copy all POI files into this folder. Next direct POI loader to that folder and it will add this to you GPS.

Try this FAQ

This FAQ is written to be as simple as possible. It explains how to set up folders in the computer like Melaqueman says.

No need to format the SD card. They come pre-formatted.

You point poi loader to the folder.

Not to the individual poi files.

Thanks

I think I have it figured out...just have to try it. But it's raining and 3 degrees above freezing. Maybe tomorrow.

PS:
I love the rapid response on this site. No 'diss-ing' and real down-to-earth replies.
