Bass Pro is buying Cabela's

 

Talk about big news in the outdoor activity world. It was announced yesterday that Bass Pro is buying Cabela's.

I assume once this sorts out if the name changes on the stores to Bass Pro, plunder and mahoney will get together and merge their POI files for these places into one.

Market Saturation

Cabella's is celebrating it's first year in Calgary next week. I'm not into hunting and fishing so I haven't been into it yet. Not sure there is a need for two "outdoor superstores" in the city.

A good move for both stores.

A good move for both stores. I find Cabelas is further from where I am so I end up at BassPro mostly.

We have a Cabella's in our town on Vancouver Island which, like Calgary's, has been open about a year now. I would suggest that you take a trip to your store just for the experience. These stores are beautiful! I've been in ours a few times and never bought anything but it's always worth the walk around. grin
