In Out

Forums: http://www.poi-factory.com/search/node/In-N-Out+Burger

POI Files: http://www.poi-factory.com/node/33102

The POI file does appear to be actively updated but I'm not sure if it's at all compete as I'm not sure if user 'orphaned files' is a person or is 'JM/GlobeTurtle doing additions as sent to them by us.' confused

In Out

I updated the latest version that is available. Since that update, there has only been 1 new location and a couple of coming soon locations showing up on the website locator, I was waiting for the coming soon locations to open before I made the new changes.
The 1 new location is in San Marcos,TX and I just verified that the coming soon locations in Pflugerville,TX, Austin,TX(2) and Phoenix,AZ are still not open.

Aha

...and that's why you're a double COY!

Hmm, how many trees are required to make a forest.

A Forest for the Trees

Well... When I lived on Adak Island, AK back in the early 60's, there were 6 mid-sized evergreens (and the only trees in the area) with a 'National Forest' sign near them. Don't know if they were official or not though.

So, I'm guessing Six!

Thanks for the update. I am really, really addicted to In-N-Out burgers ... and cross addicted to their fresh cut french fries.

but alas, there isn't a franchise within 500 miles of me, so I can only indulge (and overdose) when we on the road.

You are lucky. We are over 1200 miles from the nearest location.

Well ...

Thanks for maintaining the

Thanks for maintaining the POI file. I wish In-N-Out Burger had more locations. When I stopped at an In-N-Out Burger last year in California, the line was out the door into the parking lot. The adjacent McDonald's was like a ghost town, with literally not a single customer.

In-N Out Burger file update

I just added new locations in Austin,TX and San Marcos,TX. File will be available for downloading soon.

Funny, I work just around the block from the first ever In-N-Out location in Baldwin Park, CA and the warehousing/main transport hub/university (yes, an actual university) which is also just around the block from that first location. They now (within the last couple of years) have a replica of the first In-N-Out Burger stand very near to it's actual original location a few hundred feet or so away. It's open to take pictures and to see how "it used to be" (no food is served there). It's unbelievably tiny...Google "In-N-Out replica" to see pics. On the other side of the freeway, they built a new In-N-Out in early 2000 or so.

I seldom (once or twice a year) eat there...or at the other numerous nearby SoCal locations. I have it literally around the block from me and don't want it. You guys are hundreds/thousands of miles away from one (or even "over the pond" as sussamb is) and crave it.

Don't shoot me...but I actually prefer Five Guys over In-N-Out. cool

and yup... I remember getting the bumper stickers, both the the ones that said

In-N-Out
Hamburgers

and cutting off the "Hamb" and "rs"

and the ones that said

In-N-Out
Burgers

and cutting off the "B" and the "rs"

so it read

In-N-Out
urges

As the story goes, the owner (one of the snyder's) in about 1970 or so, was so angry about how the bumper sticker were being modified they were changed to the format they are today (if you can find any) where the bumper sticker was

In-N-Out Burgers

all in one line.

Yeah, I remember!!! I too modified more n' one bumper sticker to read:

In-N-Out
Urge

Bumper Stickers!!! Ahhhh.. those were he days! mrgreen

Apples and oranges IMO, but nothing wrong with preferring one over the other.

Only been to In-N-Out once, in Las Vegas, and liked it. Would go more if they were around the People's Republic.

Five Guys has gotten pretty expensive from where they started out with one or two locations only in Virginia.

Never had

One opened a year or so ago in Lake Worth, Texas.
It is a suburb on the West side of Fort Worth.
We go there some and it is very good and always clean.
There are no lines or crowds. It is a great place to eat.

Same Thing Only Different. grin

In-N-Out is a bit more like fast food in service, though better quality IMO.

5 Guys has a more limited menu (I think) and is more expensive, though not outrageous.

Both are sort of in categories by themselves.

In and Out burgers are good. Their fries are meh.

In-N-Out burgers are good. Their fries are meh. Always laughing at the fan hysteria from out of towners.

I prefer Habit Burgers myself.

In-and-out burger

I wish they would come up to NY or at least the northeast coast.

I agree on the fries

If you eat the fries in the restaurant when they are hot and fresh they are ok but if you take them home they are horilble after they start to cool.

I was about to report In n Out that just opened in my neighborhood (1701 Artesia Blvd, Gardena,CA 90248) but you got it already. Damn, you're fast.

Btw, that place used to be Burger King. They closed down the business and it's now In-n-Out. Is there Burger King POI? Did anyone update Burger King POI?

BK closed

I hadn't gotten around to checking on this one. Thanks for flagging this to me.

It was still in the BK file. Thanks and consider it gone.

Ah, I see you're also taking care of BK file. Good to know it's fixed.

As a side note, I can't believe they flattened BK building to the ground and built a new one. Completely unnecessary.

In-n-Out tends to have some fairly standardized floor plans..

I'd suspect the BK floor plan didn't conform to what In-n-Out's requirements.

Better To Buld New

Having talked to some contractors they say it is sometimes cheaper and easier to build new than try to remodel the okd. smile

That must be the reason. It looks entirely different now including flow of (drive thru) traffic.
