For my fellow Applephiles, IOS 10 is due out today, presumably around 9 am PST, 12 EST,

How many of you jumped in as soon as it was released and got their phone bricked? Me, sheepishly raising hand. According to CNN, Apple announced those updating in the first hour got their phones bricked and had to restore their phone to factory, then restore their settings.

Apple also announced that it got the problem fixed and it's safe to download now.

My iPhone 6...

...updated OTA without a problem.

I have seen articles since recommending going through iTunes which is what I usually do.

I started updating mine at my last post

Beware, this is a CPU killer as my 6s is just hotter n' heQQ...

I'm taking mine and I'm going to put it under a bag of ice to keep it cool while it updates...

This is nutz

Glad I'm Slow

I think I'll wait awhile before updating my 6+ and my iPad.

So far, so good.

Mine was one, too. Fortunately, I was home and just hooked it up to iTunes and had it back in fighting shape in no time.

Took me three tries. iTunes

Took me three tries. iTunes was trying to update itself, Xcode was try to update, and the phone didn't know whether poop or draw small stores. (Look it up).

No rush

I'll wait a day or two

I guess we will see. There

I guess we will see. There are several changes to the look and feel of a lot of programs. Will have to get used to it over time.

Success

I guess I was lucky. I downloaded it right after 11(MT) without any problems. I had it connected to iTunes but did the download from the phone. Thought it was bricked when I shut it down after using it for a while, just to see, had the apple logo on the screen for a long time then it started up as usual. Breathed a sigh of relief and smile

Appears to be working OK this AM

I think the error was

I think the error was occurring when you did an over the air update, via wifi. When the error occurred it immediately popped up the USB to iTunes connect icon on the phone.

But just to see if it could stand up the the hammer test

I took mine out and beat the hell out of it with a 4 Lb hammer.

Now iOS 10 doesn't work anymore but the iCantPhone is fine razz

No problems here

I updated both my iPhone 6 and my iPad Air without any problems, both work great. During the update the screens will go black and it might appear that nothing is happening. Just be patient, everything is OK.

Finally

I finally upgraded my 6+ and iPad Pro. I definitely notice the new format, but haven't really noticed any difference in performance. Still, I like the way out looks.

So Far, So Good

The iPhone 6 is updated. The iPad 2 is not eligible for iOS 10.

I think some apps still need to be updated to be compatible/compliant with iOS 10. For example, Garmin N. America now has a couple graphics glitches that I hope will be sorted out soon.

Smartphone Link??

Anyone tried Garmin's Smartphone Link with IOS 10? Read about some issues on another site.

It broke the Cracker Barrel

It broke the Cracker Barrel Games APP.....

But an update was made to the APP.... and now back to normal...
Wife has found some useful improvements....in messaging with pics.
I ran the Garmin APP just to see if it would load.. Loaded fine, but went no further...
Then they found a security hole in Ios10, and came out with an update....

I don't recommend OTA update

How do you guys like the iOS 10 update?

Normally, I do not recommend doing an OTA update even though it is much convenient installing small patches and fixes. However, sometimes it may cause problems or glitches.

Whenever I install new update, I would put my iPhone in recovery mode (turn off iPhone, press and hold down home button, connect iPhone to iTunes), select "Update" and have iTunes update the firmware by downloading the full firmware file which allow the software to replace existing system files while retaining user's data. You can also update via iTunes without going into recovery mode which is similar. It is just my preference to do it this way. You can also reinstall the same firmware by doing the recovery mode to "update" to the same version if you encounter any problems than a complete restore and losing all your data.

I recommended friends to do it this way and told me they have noticed there is speed improvement before updating.

No Problem

Updated an iphone and two ipads - no problems at all.

New Update!

iOS 10.0.2 just released today to fix issues with headphone audio, photos and app extension.

Thanks for the update about 10.0.2

It never pays to rush to a major release. There's always a fix and then a fix fix coming very soon after. Sort of like the first year of a new car design....

Have fun. I'm not that brave. But I did just update my 7+ to 10.0.2…no problems so far.

Not on Beta since official debut

Any performance boost? I rolled back from developer beta to official beta since I am waiting for a jailbreak razz

IOS 10.0.2

A new update is avaiables v10.0.2.

3 update .

1)fix headphone that it may not work.

2)fix photo not working when opening I cloud photo library
