Wow!

A 250 nm radius around Chine Lake Naval Base takes in most of California and much of Nevada. And it's during the daytime hours. Quite a test it is!

You might know!

I will be in Las Vegas during the end of June. Don't plan on doing much driving while there though.

Don't worry

This should only be problems for aircraft above so many feet.. The report I read said it only will be problems for a few planes that have had problems with gps interferance.
That is what they are saying. There is a chart with the specific days this will happen. Forgot io bookmark it. sad

Old hat here in New Mexico

They have been doing tests that I believe to be similar here in New Mexico centered somewhere near Socorro for years I believe.

Living in Albuquerque and doing some driving around the state, I have never once noticed that those tests created a problem for me.

Off North Carolina

They did some testing off North Carolina in 2012 too. I never heard of any big issues.

China Lake

According to wikipedia, it was named because of the Chinese laborers for borax mining.

Per Wiki

Origin of name: Chinese men harvested borax from the dry lake bed approximately 1.5 miles south of Paxton Ranch. The operation was known locally as "The Little Chinese Borax Works".
