Garmin 2797LMT - Hand Free Use

I love my Garmin 2797LMT. It is not only has large crystal clear display and sound but the biggest benefit one gets from this device is hand free usage of it.

Safety First. What do other users think about this feature? I have a foreign accent, but have no issue in using the Voice Command.

Garmin Voice Command is Awesome / Fantastic

I have a 2798LMT, soon to have a 70LMT both of which have Garmin Voice Command and I absolutely love it. The feature is extremely useful and very much improved from the first generation. I think this should be standard across the board on all models to avoid fiddling with the unit while travelling. I love how you can search for an address, POI, etc. without having to pull over. I use a custom wakeup phrase which works well although at times as with any voice recognition, it can't understand certain names well but that's to be expected. It will get better with time and updates. For example, how does a computer tell the difference between ice cream and I scream? Sounds almost identical. Another example might be Flour St. vs. Flower St. Fortunately, if it doesn't understand you, it offers suggestions which most of the time are helpful.

Me too.

I love the voice comment on my Nuvi 2598MLT. I also have a foreign accent but with careful pronunciations it works fine.

Accent

I have a 2798 and consider "Voice Command" to be a valuable feature. I have no accent but I'm glad to hear you are able to use it with yours.

I have a friend who speaks with a heavy French accent and has some trouble. He has better luck by switching to a French language and voice on his GPSr.

Accent

Having moved from Buffalo NY to Atlanta Ga, I've been accused of having an atrocious accent.
However, both my Garmins handle voice commands with aplomb. grin
