Keeping The Windmill Alive - Your Last Trip? – May 2016

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

Through the cottage country area south of Barrie

Strapped the old Nivu 255 to the RoadGlide and took a leisurely holiday Monday drive through the cottage country area south of Barrie - the hamlets of Alcona and Belle Ewart - what once was a cottage area is now spotted with fantastic lake side homes. All in commenting distance to Toronto.

Weekends are made for....

Good friends, Wifey, 2 pups and a warm campfire with lots of good conversation and camaraderie as well as some nice frosty beverages to mellow out on.

Going

to take a little trip down south.

Late night trip up to

Late night trip up to cottage - no traffic and relaxation on the road.

Weekend trips

Did get to go to the baseball game, pretty good even if the Reds did manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Highly recommend the Flying Pig and the ludicrous amount of very local microbrews if anyone ever heads to Great American Ball Park grin

Aquarium next day, actually managed to find a NEW and quicker route via GPS grin

To the body shop

in my back-up truck to pick up the license plates and the last bit of personal items from my '07 Camry. It was rear-ended a little over a week ago, and was declared a total loss.

I bought it new nine years ago, the first year that style came out, and babied it ever since. It didn't even have a door ding on it until now. It's been a great car, and it has served me well. It gave up its useful life to protect me from a heavily-loaded Ford F-350 that couldn't stop in time.

I said my good-bye and a thank-you. Inanimate object, maybe, but I guess I needed it.

I replaced it last weekend. The new one has technological updates, new car smell and everything else, but it just isn't "mine" yet.

For a trip to "The Club at Bonehead"

Had a work function at the golf course, "The Club at Bonehead" - took the Nuvi there ....

Th golf carts are equipped with what appears to be a re-brnaded eTrex with custom golf software - pretty cool - I'm not a golfer but it was a great day

Costco

Took some new back roads to Costco today, avoid the freeway traffic

Taking a trip to one of our other offices

Taking the Nuvi, my RoadGlide, and the backroads to one of our other offices

looking forward to a great ride

Starting to get decently warm

Starting to get above 80 here, and soon the SCUBA set made out of NASA test Aerogel will be needed to breathe out here grin

So the next trip with GPS will be to grocery to get grilling supplies...and citronella fuel for the anti-mosquito tiki torches grin

maiden voyage

Purchased a new 2699 and took it out for about a 1.5 hour road trip - it is a 6 inch screen and I am really liking it. A lot more to explore on it.

They said a million bikes and spectators combined this year...it has become the largest single day motorcycle event in the world.
