Wrong BMP showing for some ESSO outlets

I've noticed that for some ESSO outlets in the Ottawa area the Canadian Tire BMP shows on the map vice the ESSO one. I've checked the GPX file but cannot find any reference to BMPs. Any suggestions?

Built-in POIs?

If you're referring to the POIs built into each map (and not a Custom POI from The POI Factory which you installed with POI Loader), the only fix is to contact Here or Garmin and report the map error, then wait for a future map update to correct the issue. How recent a version is your map?

If these are custom POIs from here and if you've added custom icons for Esso and for Canadian Tire, then the Canadian Tire POI file contains some locations that are now Esso stations. In this case, contact the maintainer of the CT file to remove the locations; and if they're not in the Esso file, contact that file's maintainer as well. Both files here are maintained by current users so it should be a quick fix. Note that for these custom POIs, no icon will appear on your nuvi (other than a small black dot) so if an icon is showing that you didn't install, the error is with the built-in POIs from the map update.

At least they're both vehicle-related locations and not a Tim Horton's. wink

The Esso file

The Esso file I post does not reference any BMP file.

Check with Google Earth

Try going to a couple of the locations with Google Earth. If the street view image is a couple of years old, you might find the answer. (or not)

.

I don't think that Google Earth street view is related to icons on a Garmin GPS unit.
