Issue uploading routes to NUVI

I have a new Nuvi 2589. It is updated with the latest version of all the software. I have the latest version of Basecamp for Mac. I can create routes in basecamp with no problem. I then click the upload and the window opens and says the upload to the device is done. I disconnect my device and start it. I then get an error "Cannot Save Trip" wit the tripName. I can't find the trip so I have no idea what I am doing wrong. Also as I tried it all the trips I tried to upload are queued up and I get the same error message for each trip. I don't know if the error is in Basecamp or the unit. Is there an issue with my workflow? All of the routes I am trying to upload were created in Basecamp. There has to be a simple answer.

First, I would go to Garmin's site and download the user manual for the unit and start reading. Then, from the home screen press on Apps and the select the Trip Planner. Everything should be there and just as clear as mud at the bottom of a coal mine.
