I bought this Unit about 4 weeks ago, updated the Software and Maps. I ran a Simulation and everything was good to go. Later on that day, I plugged it into the Car Power port ( Rated at 5amps )and as soon it powered up, the Unit went into Computer connection mode, could not power down but after I disconnected the Power Cord, I got the Garmin Logo, the Unit worked fine after that. Been using the Garmin everyday for the last 4 weeks and not one problem until today. Morning worked good, this afternoon, did it again, went into Computer connection mode, could not shut down, unplugged power cord, got the Garmin Logo and it was good to go again. And yes, both times the Battery was fully charged. Anyone have a weird problem like this?
...
And I just ordered one from Amazon...
Hope it works out for ya!

Other than these two
Other than these two instances, The unit works great! I have a stinking suspicion it's the power cord...................

Same Problem
I had the same problem with my RV760. It turned out to be an intermittent connection in the power cable. Try working the cable around near the connectors to see if a contact is loose.
Sometimes a dirty power outlet will cause a low voltage condition which will make the unit think it's plugged into a usb port and go into computer mode.
Using a usb cable to power the gps via an in dash usb port can also cause this problem.

Something to think about. I usually keep the power cord connected in the Car as the Car is new. Maybe I'll clean the connectors in the Car and the Power Cord with some LPS Electro Contact Cleaner...................
