Keeping The Windmill Alive - Your Last Trip? – March 2016

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

Another dog and pony show...

another breakfast and demo morning for our startup. Nuvi led me right to the spot, one less thing to worry about. Another one next week, and for that one traffic avoidance will be more of an issue, mostly I'll be swimming counter-commute (as I did to day, happily enough), but next week once I get close to the site, it's gonna be a mess.

To the hospital....

Mother-in-law fell and broke her arm and banged her head pretty well (she's 87). We've been bouncing back and forth to the hospital since Sunday. Not in good shape. Might be taking a trip up to Pennsylvania soon if she doesn't get better.

Life goes on....

30 years ago I had a manager that used to be with TRW down near LAX. He used to commute up from Orange County and would arrive at the office between 4 and 5 AM and leave after 7 PM just to miss the traffic. When I lived in SJ, I could leave home about 7:30 A and get to our offices on Vallco Pkwy around 8:25 - 8:35 most work days. Leaving at 5:30, I was lucky to be home by 7:00.

Garden Class

Went to a Garden class in a city near by. I was familiar with the city but was not sure about the exact location of the class. I was disappointed when the Garmin took me off the main road to some back roads and then back to the main road to my final destination. I like that we have choices for "Fastest Time" or "Shortest Route", but I think we need another choice for "Interstate and Main Road Priority Route".

To the airport!

The things we do for our kids...

My son won an all-expense paid drip to the East Coast (aka, a biz trip). Can I drop him off at the airport Tuesday morning and pick him up Friday? Sure, just let me know what time we need to leave.

Just informed: his flight leaves at 6:30 AM.

He's my son. I still love him.

Airport rules

And the airport rules say they want you there 2 hours prior to departure? Plus drive time to the airport? Wow. Getting up at 3:30 or 4:00 AM in that case. I'd be recommending calling a taxi or shuttle service. wink
