Route Variance

I've got a c330 and have a question about routing. I take the exact same route home everynight.

My subdivision has 2 entrances, and my house is essentially the same distance from each entrance. Some days the GPS directs me to entrance A, some days to entrance B.

Can anyone explain why?

What is your route preference?

Shortest or fastest?

If shortest, it's quite literal on that, and, due to the variability in accuracy when you first power up, even if your in the same spot, either way could be seen as the shortest at a given moment.

But then again, I could be way off the mark...but it sounds plausible... smile

2 Entrances

If your subdivision has two entrances, the GPS will choose one on odd numberd days and the other on even days. That evens out the wear and tear on the pavement.

...OK, maybe not. LOL

I believe it's set to fastest, but I haven't changed the preference.

you might be on to something.

i think you might be onto something. GPS accuracy is approximate only and not exact. sometimes the gps will pickup up maybe 10-20 ft from something, depending on weather, clouds, etc. etc... this has some play, wouldn't you think so? I could be off, but any guess is as good as any.

in the end it's all a bunch of codes and calculations!
