How do I change the alert distance from the red light camera?

I downloaded the Red Light camera POI and one of the warning voices. Works great have already found a camera that I didn't know was there. Problem is that the default is around 1500 ft but I would like to increase that.

Thanks

Manual Mode

Run POI Loader in Manual Mode instead of Express Mode, and you can set the alert at whatever distance you want.

.25 miles seems to be Garmin's choice

Thanks, MM, for the process. I had forgotten about manual POI load. Seems Garmin likes to use quarter mile distances for proximity alerts. I upped mine to 2500 feet,or just under a half mile.

.

If you read the Help File for POI Loader, it indicates that POI Loader uses the word "redlight" in the filename to give the POIs an automatic 1320 foot (.25 mile) proximity alert.

Just remember....

Once you download using the manual mode of POI Loader, it will set that as the default the next time you start up that program. You'll need to do manual each time and set the distance you want your proximity alerts to sound. If you revert back to express mode, the program will default back to the quarter mile distance for red lights and one-third mile for speed cameras (and 0 feet for any other custom POI).
