Multiple Red Light Warnings

I have a Nuvi 2555 and have installed redlight and speed camera locations with alerts. For some reason, I'm getting as many as 4 audible alerts as I approach a camera. I'm sure it has to do with my setup, but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

best guess

The best guess is you have multiple copies of the RLC files on your unit. The quickest fix for this is to run POI Loader and tell it to delete all POI files from the unit. Run POI Loader a second time and reload the POI from your master list.

Other possible causes are multiple copies of the source file in your loader folder, and the type of alert set. A normal distance (proximity) alert can go off multiple times if you stop and start again within the alert distance. Check what you set for a distance. Most here set the distance to a couple hundred feet/meters rather than something like a quarter mile or 400 meters. Mine is set to 350 feet or about 110 meters.

Speed

Are you by chance moving very slowly when this happens? I have noticed in stop and go traffic when the speed drops, the alerts keep going off when I start moving. Stop, or crawl, and start moving the alert goes off again. Back when I had the Star Trek alert it eventually became to annoying. Now I use a cash register ka-ching to alert me.

That seems to make sense.. I'd expect to hear a warning for each red light... Don't many intersections have 4 red lights?

Only two at a time. Therefore you should never be warned more than twice.

Thanks everyone, I'll try

Thanks everyone, I'll try the POI delete and reload. It does the same thing with speed cameras that aren't at an intersection, so I don't think it's being caused by multiple cameras in the same location.
