There is voice command
Still trying to find a way to use my built in navigation while driving. It is great if I remember to put in where we are going but my husband won't stop if I forget................................
Too bad there isn't a "passenger mode" on the built in units, but I suppose the liability lawyers would object as there is no way to enforce that the driver won't operate it while driving. I take it there is not a voice command mode that can be used when the car is moving?
Don't know why but even when I am driving (could be Texan) the unit can not understand anything I am saying. Most of the time it doesn't even here me in the driver's seat. I am 5'3" and maybe a high pitch voice.
My husband can punch the talk button when he is driving and let me try to talk but it has never heard me.
I don't drive much, just to get a haircut, but would love to use it while I am a passanger. I am going to look into seeing if my husband can make the voice recognition any better.
The built in is great for every day use if you already have been there and it is in the top 4 positions of previous places but you can not scroll down while driving.
So my only option is remember to put in our destination before we leave and hope we don't want' to find something while driving...
As I have said before Garmin Nuvi is much better for long trips.....
I did have to talk a lot to get him to buy the built in Navigation.
But I would never say it is better for short trips as my husband might hear me
