Keeping The Windmill Alive - Your Last Trip? – October 2015

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

The girls at work said there was a better route to take, but weren't sure which route was the better choice..thank you for the suggestion! grin

Just for grins, check each route using Gas Buddy (gasbuddy.com) as it will show you not only current fuel prices but also price each route for total gas cost.

Back to the repair shop...

Thought the cooling system problem with my Mini Cooper was fixed. Driving early this morning in cooler weather, stopped at a light, steam coming from under the bonnet dissuaded me of that belief.

Back to the shop. Sigh. My birthday present is going to be more repair bills.

Sounds like it's because of all those high power radios you have that poor Cooper loaded up with razz

Ft. Lauderdale - Cruise Port Routing Disaster

Installed the .10 map update and took the Garmin GPS on a road trip to Ft. Lauderdale's Cruise Port Terminal 2. What a disaster. The GPS tried to route us through a parking garage and shopping mall that apparently had been built since the map was last updated. Had the same problem on departure.

Maybe this is fixed in .20 - downloading it now.

NH to NJ

Went from NH to NJ ~300mi trip. Other than my Nuvi 3490 wanting to take me off I84 around Hartford CT, only to put me back on a couple of exits later, I had no problems. I just ignore the GPS at those times, if I know the route. I wish they would fix these little glitches, they are very anoying in unfamiliar territory.

To NC

Took a trip to Burnsville, TN yesterday from Jonesborough, TN to see Little Roy and Lizzy Long. Garmin did fine but in the dark and wet return we turned a few hundred feet to soon. We got on 23A instead of I-26 so we got to take a dark winding trip for 8 miles till we could get onto I-26 at the next exit. Seeing where we we should be, every so often, up the side of the mountain. Oh well still made great time and it was a great concert.

The 2016.20 shows the shopping mall but still tries to route you through it, although the road ends in a 10 foot high barbed-wire security fence around the port!

Reported to Garmin cartography.
