Garmin Express 4.1.8.0

Not much in this release for nuvi users.

For PC:
Garmin began rolling out Garmin Express v4.1.8.0 for the PC today. If you would like to upgrade to the latest version, Check for Updates to Express on the Settings page within the Express application. This version includes the following changes:

• Fixed an issue where step data was deleted if the device was not the active activity tracker.
• Fixed an issue that prevented users from adding a device back to Express after they had retired the device in Garmin Connect.

For Mac:
nothing yet, still at 4.1.7.0 ... will post here if that changes.

Had to uninstall previous version first

When I did the update within Garmin Express on my Windows 7 machine it got an error about 70 percent of the way through. I had to uninstall my previous version and then do a clean install through the Garmin website.

I just did an update to 4.1.5. I was offered version 4.1.8. This is getting to be like Adobe Flash.

Anyway, I'm up to date.

Did you get an error message that said something about 64 bit?

Error message didn't mention 64 bit

It mentioned something failed to initialize and installation failed.

But I have no idea why so many client updates are required just to install files on a gps.

If they updated the maps half as often as they updated G.E., we'd be in a much better place.

Mine went fine also....but I think some of the Garmen Express updates have to do with some of their other products besides the GPS', such as their dash-cams and exercise trackers, etc (they all use Garmin Express as an update interface).
