unable to delete favourites

I wasted few hours trying to delete current.gpx file. One way or another I ended up with hundres of favourites that I can only delete one by one. How can I do it all at once? I tried POI load, i tried renaming, i tried deleting them through the mapsource.

Page 25 of your c530 manual says - "To delete the custom POIs from your c530, connect your c530 to your computer. Open the Garmin/POI folder in the "Garmin" drive or the SD drive. Delete the file entitled poi.gpi.

Current.gpx is a kind of 'backup copy' of your Favourites - they're actually stored somewhere inaccessible. The C5xx doesn't provide a "Delete all Favourites" option, but "Clearing User Data" will probably do the trick. (See Page 21 of manual).

that was the first thing i tried, no luck. file gets deleted and magaically re-generated.

Wow, stragne. First time i reset all user data I chose polish, it did not reset favorites.
2nd time i did the same reset, back to english, and it did delete all the favorites!
how to delete a map
i added a topo map using mapsource. anybody knows which files have to go from GARMIN drive?
The topo map
will have ended up as GMAPSUPP.IMG on the C530. You'll hopefully recognise the date/time stamp on the file - but, if in doubt, backup it before deleting. (Or rename it to something else first, just to prove that only the expected TOPO map disappears)

i used to have c330 and I was able to view the TOPO data when the zoom level (and detail set to "most") was set. I can't seem to be able to do this on c530
Firmware update files.
The .bin files are the firmware updaters for the various components (bluetooth, SiRF, etc). I don't believe there is any means of downgrading these components, once the updates have been applied (unlike the main firmware), so deleting the files doesn't have a whole lot of effect, one way of the other. Back 'em up first tho...
