Streets are Gone

All,

Has anyone else had this problem with aa Nuvi 350? All of a sudden this morning, no side streets show up and my car was to the left of the main road I was travelling on. The calculated route was way off as well.

I didn't do anything to any settings, just turned it on and it was hosed.

Any suggestions on how to restore this? I have a full backup of the Nuvi from when it was new. I'm wondering if the map db got corrupted.

I do have POI files loaded onto an SD card.

I also tried a reset but that made no difference.

Reset

I would press the reset button. That may take care of it.

Something to try

People reporting problems after updates or other changes have tried clearing uer data (Warning - clears favorites as well)

If I had this problem, I would first clear user data, then use webupdater (or manually re-load) to reload the system software in case it is corrupted.

Disappearing Streets

I think I saw this on an old Twilight Zone Episode.

I would call Garmin and ask them directly. If anyone else has reported it, they may know a fix. Then you can post how to fix it on here for the rest of us.

OK, so I took a little trip

OK, so I took a little trip through the back of my mind and remembered that yesterday I changed voices from the Australian womans voice to American Jill. The system did a reset. I theorize that this is what made my detailed maps disappear.

I finally fixed the problem by pressing and holding the upper right corner while powering up.

Got a little message box stating that all saved data would be lost. Well; what the heck, the unit is only a month old and I didn't have much to lose so I proceded.

Now the maps are back to normal, all my favorites are still there and my POI's on the SD card are also there.

In the end, nothing was lost and my maps returned.

Hope this helps anyone who experiences the same fate.
