Keeping The Windmill Alive - Your Last Trip? – August 2015

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

Checked out the Map Update

On the way to Texas Oncology I tested the map even though we well know how to get there. It worked great. Took us the newer road. We always go that way but were not sure if Jill would route us that way, she did.

Putting routes in her for our Fall trip to Niagara Falls. Can't wait.

Used to live there. Not much has changed over the years. It's still nice to re-visit the past though.

Picking up our daughter!

Tomorrow I get to pick up our daughter, who spent the summer as lead counselor at a Girl Scout Camp. I don't have to worry about missing the turnoff this time, as I put a marker on it the last time I dropped her off.

No Where Special

No where special; only back and forth for work.

Have a good week folks.

GPS at Sea

Just got home from a 24 day Cruise from Montreal to London. Didn't use the GPS on shore, but did use it while at sea. No power outlets on the tour buses. Just put it on the corner of the desk next to the door to the balcony and it kept us apprised of exactly where in the world we were.

Downloaded the tracks to the laptop and applied them to a world map. Captured screen shots and used them to document the trip.

Fun Fun Fun

halfway done

then back to Fla grin

Avoid

Used avoid highways due to construction on expressway. The red lights and traffic took almost as long as the construction delays.

Thank God for GPS

We have moved to a new state so almost every trip is an adventure, even to the the local hardware. After 2 months we have tried to wean ourself as much as possible finding things but we often hit Home button to find a more efficient way to get back to our new house. Almost no road goes E W N S in Eastern TN.

Chicagoland to Wisconsin's North Woods

Due to the number of trips I've made there, this will not be a trip I *need* a GPS for, but it's handy to have in the event of construction or traffic reroutes. Will be going up for a day, driving back home, then back up again a few days later. I'm glad I don't mind driving!

Devils Tower

Drove from central Iowa, across South Dakota to Devils Tower, Wyoming, then back to the Black Hills, Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore and the Badlands. I love the fact that the speed limit in South Dakota and Wyoming is now 80 mph!

Paperwork!

Our daughter got a job with a local school district! Taking her to the district office (at as yet an unknown location -- told her I need an address to feed to the Nuvi) this afternoon so she can do the paperwork, and start Monday!

New Harley GPS

Nice day trip thru some scenic roads to the Flight 93 Memorial site today. The Harley GPS, though it has a beautiful screen, leaves a lot to be desired. Especially when I've been use to the zumo 665 for a few years now.

The tires are cooling off

Going through post trip depression. Been on the road for 4 weeks, including a 9 day tour of Cuba. In the future I will have my next trip planned to avoid this post-trip crash.

Likely will be heading to Canada in the future. Have 280 in Canadian currency leftover from the trip to Cuba. Had major shock when I went to covert it back to USD. Decided to keep it for my next trip rather than take the bath on the conversion rip-off.

I wonder if there are many camera traps in Canada?
