Never argue with a pig. It makes you look foolish and it anoys the hell out of the pig!

Very

interesting reading.

Therefore, you am. grin

I think

Mile based taxation has been around in a way for a long time in the form of fuel taxes. If another tax was added to miles driven, it would definitely give some pause before taking the RV out of storage. Many look forward to traveling in their retirement years and something like this could be a deal breaker. The trickle down effect would have a negative impact on many industries in this nation. Goodbye to "See the USA"

VMT or Vehicle Miles Traveled will replace the gas tax on the federal side and fund the maintenance on all federal highways like the Interstates and US route numbered highways. States may still continue to collect a gas tax to pay for maintenance on state and county roads.

I've yet to see a tax ever

I've yet to see a tax ever be rescinded when a "replacement" has been introduced.

I would rather

I say just raise the gas tax. They've always been stressing to save gas and now that they are, they realize tax gas revenues are falling. Just raise the gas tax. Imposing a new mileage tax would just create more work and expense that taxpayers have to foot the bill for.

I think

I think that our government today does not care what "we the people" want. So stop numbing your brain cells worrying about this stuff.

I never get lost, but I do explore new territory every now and then.

Its a game

They are trying to do the same locally with Solar, a few years ago there was a big push to get home owners to go solar. Now the Power Company is complaining they are losing money to those with Solar. Water Company wants higher rates now that people are conserving water as asked, not enough profit from rates because of low volume usage. Gas Company has a special low usage fee they assess if we have a warm winter here to make up for drop in revenue.

With all the mileage improvements, hybrids and all electric cars the Gov. is not getting enough money to spend on "entitlements". You do know gas tax money is stolen for other entitlements, not Road infrastructure.

Think about it, why the extra steps to get mileage, gas tax is largely a mileage tax, but now varies according to your vehicle mileage. They want you to conserve but when you do their spending money goes down so gotta find a better way to get more out of your pocket!!!

I always check out a site before I read

The site govinfosecurity.com is in the united states.

It was formed by ISMG Information Security Media Group. (.ismgcorp.com). Norton safe site is unable to find where ISMG main information is coming from but on their web site they have address in US and India, and SALES & MARKETING in Princeton, San Francisco and London.

Statement from ISMG's web site:
"Back in 2006, the founders of ISMG saw a need for an independent source for unbiased information on compliance, governance, fraud, audit, information security, and risk management related topics specifically geared towards vertical industries. Information Security Media Group was founded to address this immediate need.

BankInfoSecurity was launched to address this need for the financial services sector. Since the BankInfoSecurity.com site was released in 2006, ISMG has consistently added products to meet the growing needs of its subscriber base. In early 2007, based on the demand from the original subscribers, a site specifically catering to the Credit Union sector - CUInfoSecurity - was released."
