Route Time to Destination Discrepancy

Has anyone experienced a major discrepancy between the plotted route estimated Total Time using Base Camp and that indicated and experienced while driving using a Garmin GPS?

The discrepancy was approximately one hour longer on the GPS for a Route of approximately 1000 miles.

Base Camp and the GPS parameters were set the same.

I have tried several techniques to resolve with no success.

You want to see discrepancy,

You want to see discrepancy, make a route with Garmin, then compare it Google, Here, and Waze. You will get 4 different ETAs.

That said, your Garmin takes into account it's learned behavior of your driving habits and average speeds. The other three don't, they use absolute speeds, perhaps tempered a bit by traffic conditions.

Doing a hard reset on your Garmin will give it an ETA close to Basecamp's estimate. However, you will lose all your Favorites as well as Trends.

That's not bad

An hour difference over a thousand miles is not bad at all. That's about 6%. Traffic, pitstops, fueling, etc. can add more chaos than that.

BaseCamp has a speed adjustment to attempt to compensate for speed variances that you operate at versus what it has as default. Give that a shot and see what happens.

When you are dead, you don’t know that you are dead. It is only difficult for the others. It is the same when you are stupid.

More Analysis Needed

I'll definitely explore the suggestions provided by other members and report back.
