New phishing scam (password or verification code)

 

Does anyone use 2FA (2-Factor Authentication) or 2-step verification? Do you know that cyber criminals can reset your online password by knowing your email address and phone number? The following video explains how it works:

I've never heard of this phishing attack but I highly doubt I'd fall for it. The bottom line is to NEVER respond to anything (email, incoming calls and/or text message) that asks for your password or verification code.

Here's the iOS scam I was talking about yesterday:

iPhone and iPad users have reported receiving pop-up notifications telling them that their software has crashed and that they must dial a support helpline to fix it.

I'm an Apple support forum user. I've seen a lot of posts regarding this (fake) warning and blaming Apple for the problem. In some cases, the source of the problem is their hacked wireless router (it's serving ads and other unwanted redirection).
