Can't Delete a Saved Place

Hi,

I have tried to delete a saved place several times. What happens is I delete the saved place and it is removed (verified) however when I turn the unit back on it is back.

Not sure this is the same for all units and you didn't identify which GPS you have but:
Connect the GPS to your computer, use Explorer to navigatge to the GPX folder on the unit and delete the temp.gpx file.

Connect your GPS to computer.
Click on GPX folder,
You will see current.gpx that has all your favorites or saved places.
Look for any file other then the current.gpx that has the gpx file extension and delete it.
Delete the favorite on your GPS settings.See http://www.poi-factory.com/node/40052
Reboot GPS.

Note if using a Mac delete the trash bin before reboot.

Suspect you have a duplicate of the current.gpx file

It could be named temp.gpx or current1.gpx or something else.
Did you recently move your favorites from an old gps to a newer gps?

I HAD THE SAME

Problem several years back. Some one suggest that I touch the three bars at the top left corner. This will take you to the next screen where you can delete or edit. Just press delete and away they go.
