Garmin Nuvi Rugged Case

Has anybody ever seen any rugged cases for the Garmin Nuvi 3597? I know that there are cases for traveling like this http://tinyurl.com/k5gxzn4 , but I am interested in one that would protect the GPS and allow it to be used at the same time. Something like this http://tinyurl.com/nfsfx6j if it were custom desgined for my Garmin Nuvi 3597 would make me much more likely to use the device when I am "pedestrian mobile" so to speak.

the battery life

on a fully charged 3597 is quite dismal and would make it a poor choice for use in pedestrian mode. I would use my smartphone with a set of off-line maps such as available free from Here or a dedicated handheld GPS device.

I have used

I have used my Nuvi while in Europe walking. It is ok if you turn it off each time you stop. I have looked for a cover for the Nuvi but never found anything.
I now have a smart phone and as Box Car said, with downloaded maps and not using data, it is a much better way to walk. You can turn on data to find places near by if you need to then turn off the data and walk with the off line maps. The Viago is so nice for this if you can get it.

Garmin Nuvi Rugged Case

CraigW,

Thank you for the replies. I had checked online, but I missed that one. I sent an email to BobjGear to see if they would be interested in making a case for the Garmin Nuvi 3597.

1st one I have seen

That looks good. I am surprised that there are not more on the market.

There are several for bikes but I don't know if you would want to carry one. I just search Amazon for waterproof case for nuvi and found several, but most are for bikes.
