GPS units with rearview backup camera?

Well, I have not replaced my aging Garmin unit yet.
But I have been noticing some units with a backup camera.

I looked briefly and the units I found were seemingly intended for an RV, which makes sense, I used to have an RV and a backup camera was very helpful.

I can provide the camera if a GPS unit can accept the input. I actually found a number of units on ebay, not GPS but often a rearview mirror with a rearview display in it. I would rather not do that for various reasons, so that leaves a garmin that has a camera input. It makes sense to buy the whole system.

Has anyone tried any and have any comments?

one of these years

you may actually get around to purchasing a unit instead of just talking about it.

What was that for?

What was that for? I don't need any snide responses.

I am in no rush, my unit works ok until they turn off the traffic. I do have other units with traffic, incidentally.

Garmin nüvi 2557LMT at Frys...

There is a cheap Garmin nüvi 2557LMT at Frys for $100, and it has Garmin backup camera BC-30 compatibility.

That camera however is very expensive. I may never buy one at $170.

Can anyone comment on that unit? It's more modern than my old 1680 or 1300. The 1300 still has ad supported traffic. I just put it back in the car, since the 1680 traffic went down with the NuLink data a couple days ago.

So I have to decide whether I need another Garmin or not.

Love my 2798LMT

`I love my 2798LMT with wireless backup cam. Sure, it's not cheap but so worth it!!!

Backup camera....

So you are saying the backup camera works well. What I wanted to hear. Is it automatic, does the unit switch to back up camera view when you go in reverse?

Yes

I have an RV760 which like the 2798 uses the BC 20 wireless backup camera. Yes it can be set up to go into into rear view mode automatically when you shift into reverse. Its a great setup.

I had an old Garmin 7200 which was equipped with a video input. The 7500 had one as well They are still around if you want to look for a used unit.
