What is the Difference Between Real Directions, Real Voices and TTS
Devices with "Real Directions" will speak not only the street names but will also use recognizable landmarks, buildings, and traffic lights in the notices. This minimize the need to locate and read upcoming street name signs. What you might hear would be: "In 500 feet, be in either right lane, then turn right at the stoplight." Note that Garmin Real Directions is only available in North America, Europe, and Australia
Devices with "Real Voice" will say something like: ""In 500 feet, turn right on Main Street." This is similar to what we know as "Text-to-speech" (TTS) voices, but Garmin claims that Real Voice uses refined speech technology to provide spoken instructions using a voice that sounds more realistic and friendly.
